Installation of a Yaesu FTM-500 in the New Defender from model year 2020
To install my 2m/70cm FTM-500 in the Defender, I opted for an installation variant from PowerfulUK. I had the corresponding panel for the Yaesu made by HEIKO Metallbau.

I had set up a search request for the Yaesu FT-736R on kleinanzeigen.de. In July 2024, the alarm went off: In Soltau, a device in unknown condition was offered from an estate for €200. I could see from the pictures that it even had the 23cm module installed. I went for it. But would the device work?
My DL8DF common mode chocke and my cable distribution setup got a new housing. From now on I can switch between my large Endfed-antenna or my 6m dipole and can send the signal either in my office during the summer months or in the attic for operation during winter.

Some time ago I stumbled across the construction plan for a transportable and lightweight quarter-wave vertical telescopic antenna in my local club.
DL8DF came up with a common mode choke design, which combines both W1JR and DG0SA chokes in one housing. Together with DL8DF I build this choke for my Endfed antenna.
23m long endfed multiband for 10m, 15m, 20m, 40m, 80m with a height of 6,5m over ground running along our house.
10m monoband dipole, mounted underroof, reached Chile with only 100W in a distance of 13.168 km in USB and Tierra del Fuego in FT8 in a distance of 13.752 km.
Got it from a silent key operator from Gronau the day before Silvester ’23.
